While the Peerage in Respite are supposed to be exploring for artifacts of magical power, learning about the forest and why it hates mankind, few actually get around to the task. Most mages are more content to sit in the relative safety of Respite and study their own forms of magic. Not Ohio Smith. Ohio Smith is at the forefront of all exploration and regularly returns with artifacts. These are available for short term public use as long as they are returned (Only available if Ohio is in Respite to let you use them, a rather unlikely proposition) While no one is certain exactly what kind of magic Ohio uses, it is suspected that he has some relationship with the Storytellers and seems to possess a supernatural ability to get out of (and into) tight spots. He is very emotional, quick to anger and tends to be a cynic, leading him to mostly work alone. He has saved several members of the Peerage from sticky situations with little or no warning while they were in the forest, lost and alone. How he manages to always be in the right place seems to be another of his gifts.
